Re: Networking on Linux host, other than Slirp?
I started over from scratch and made sure I had the libpcap-dev libraries. used these parameters during config: ./configure --enable-release-build --enable-alsa --enable-networking Still only able to select SLIRP in the drop down of the GUI. What am I doing wrong? Is there another option for buildin...

Networking on Linux host, other than Slirp?
PCEM v17 on linux,
Trying to bind to a tap interface but can only select SLIRP. Is TAP/pcap supported or is SLIRP the only Linux network option?
Thanks,

Adding MUNT to PCEM will allow you to potentially add the Roland LAPC-1 as an internal sound card option.

Re: Networking discussion
Can this network adapter be used to connect two computers running PCem and play multiplayer games via TCP protocol? Like Civilization 2 Gold, Starcraft, etc. You can use IPX on PCEM machine just fine. No need for IPX on host machine. In fact you can use any network protocol that supports ethernet. ...

Thanks for the tips on the linux compile. Installed automake-1.11 and also put in an allegro.m4 in /usr/share/aclocal
Compiles and runs ok. Same problem as blackadder with the messed up menu options though.

I did not say WfW 3.11, I said Windows 3.1. What does Bochs have anything to do here?
Arachne requires it's own packet driver which DVX will not provide to a DOS session. People have gotten Arachne working by using two NICs in a real machine with one dedicated to Arachne.

Re: Networking discussion
neozeed's writeup is very good. I would add a few things: Install Windows 3.1 before installing Desqview/X (dvx will recognize it and configure itself for use with Windows). Haven't tried it out in PCem, but in QEMU and VMWare qemm will bomb out during the aggressive memory optimization parts thus l...

Re: r328: OS/2 Warp 3 format error; CD access crashes PCem
The 2.11 install was straightforward. I was very conservative in the setup (486 66Mhz, ET4000AX, SB16, 8MB ram, 500MB HD). Ram was bumped up to 32MB after install and running ok at 1024x768. Multimedia services works partially. It messes up the SB16 IRQ and DMA and those need to be changed. For some...

Re: r328: OS/2 Warp 3 format error; CD access crashes PCem
That's pretty good, but what happened at the end there? I was able to make it to completion of install and it worked ok (minus the network of course). Unfortunately I changed the driver to use the S3 864 (emulating a Paradise Bahamas 64 (S3 864) card in PCEM). After rebooting I got the stretchy, dis...

Well I couldn't leave well enough at home and tried neozeed's advice on switching emulated motherboard and CPU.
Now with SIS 496/497 and Pentium o/d 83 the OS/2 Warp 3 install continues.
Looks like the built in NE2000 OS/2 driver isn't working right so may need an update. Almost there...

Re: Networking discussion
ISO image mounted in Virtual CloneDrive.
PCem still quits if I reboot with CD-ROM disabled so I don't think it's trying to read from CD at that point.
Edit: You know, I'm done with OS/2 versions over 2.11 at this point. Moving on to less frustrating things.

Will do a test of your posted builds ton...
