Re: Tandy Sound Emulation

PCjr's 76496 should sound weird with the Maniac Mansion noise track. Tandy 1000 uses same chip as PCjr. Later Tandy models past the 1000 should use a NCR8496, which was designed for Maniac Mansion's Tandy noise track. http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2015/10/the-journey-of-pcjrtandy-sound-chip.html

alternate OPL cores for PCem

I found these cores in the ZDoom wiki. Has anyone tried compiling PCem with these cores yet? They seem to be GPL and LGPL compatible. OPL3 Only Cores Nuked OPL: First emulator to LLE using decapsulated ROMs. This seems very interesting. https://github.com/rheit/zdoom/blob/master/src/oplsynth/nukedop...

Re: [Q] Roland SC-55/SC-88 emulation?

1. This would require dumping of wavetable roms and PROMs, which could be taken down because of legal issues.
2. This would require LLE emulation of the 2 CPUs on the machine.

I don't think Tom would be able to stand up to this one.

Re: V10.1 - PC Speaker issues

Same thing with donkey.bas in basica, also noticed it in Digger with white noise during inactivity.

I think this is a port 0x61 issue.

That's not supposed to happen at all. On a real IBM AT it initializes immediately at start.

Re: My suggestions for PCem

Another suggestion I forgot to include in my post: Actual emulation of ISA/PCI/AGP slots. Mockup https://i.imgur.com/wyST15M.png Currently, PCem can only emulate 1 video card and 1 sound card. Say that you wanted to emulate 2 VGA cards at once while having an AdLib (if it were possible on real hardw...

My suggestions for PCem

Hi! I have some suggestions about the emulator that would be good for the future! 1. PCjr Cart Support MAME already has this, it should be easy to implement. All the cartridge port does (for most carts) on real hardware is map itself to a region of RAM that the PCjr BIOS finds, so it should be easy ...

revision 378, Frogger DOS broken (CGA)

If I try to play the original floppy or common DOS versions of Frogger, the water never stops moving, and the print screen key freezes the game even though it shouldn't. (the ibm pc never supported print screen.) Sometimes the screen would glitch up, and I couldnt reproduce it again. IBM PC with 1mb...
