The crackling does not appear to be game related, I have also heard the crackling on all programs that utilize MIDI playback.

Also, the digital sound no longer works on DOS Miles Sound System based games, and detecting the card in such a game fails, followed by a very high pitched whine.

After further research and testing, I have found out that changing the emulated CPU speed partially fixes the audio problems that I have previously mentioned. Previously I tested it with a Pentium 75, and then I tested it with a Pentium 133, and most of the audio problems are gone. Is it possible to...

The drivers that I am using are from 1999 (SBPCI.VXD and SBPCI9X.DRV have a date of 10/19/1999)

I am using the latest tree of PCem, and I am using the VXD AudioPCI drivers. (the Creative-designed drivers with SB16 emulation)

Experience and the SB16 Emulation Driver for DOS, among others), and some drivers may only detect OEM cards, so I would recommend that a retail card model number (such as CT4620 ,CT4760, CT4670 or SB0060) be emulated ...

The soundblaster AWE32 and AWE64 use the EMU8000 chip for wavetable synthesis. The soundblaster Live uses the EMU10K1 chip. Windows ME's support for DOS applications is rather shaky compared to Windows 95 or 98 (and it does not have support for Real Mode DOS), so I would recommend you use either Windows 95 or 98 for using DOS applications, as they both have support for Real Mode DOS and DOS box support.

[Request] Sound Blaster Live! Support

Would it be possible to have Sound Blaster Live! emulation in PCem?

Since there is AWE32 support already (albeit with missing reverb and chorus), how much work would be required to implement it, and would it also have the same missing features as the AWE32 if it were to be implemented?

After changing the OpenAL32.dll to the latest version from openal.org , the problem appears to be partially solved. I have tested it with both Epic and non-Epic games, and the problem is similar, in fact the crackling even shows up during normal Windows and DOS MIDI playback.

Ensoniq AudioPCI Sound Issue

I have noticed that with this soundcard, there is a lot of annoying crackling that should not occur on the real card.

This occurs in both Windows and DOS. Is there any fix for this?
