Toolbar missing?

Time for a game of "what did I break" again. Using the official Linux download for PCem v13, I was able to build on my Ubuntu laptop, but when I run a machine, there's no toolbar in the main window. This means I can't access a lot of functionality. The only lead I might have is that in the...

Re: Just a stupid Question

You need to put your roms in the ~/.pcem/roms folder. That's where all of the data is found for the linux versions.

Hardware Donation?

Hey all. There's a guy I know who has an older Windows 98 computer with a dead PSU but otherwise working cards and he wanted to know if any developers would like this hardware to do either testing or implementation. Here is his full description: I have a Windows 98 PC that I rescued from the trash r...

DMA Compile Issue commit 621d85d

Hello all. I just pulled the most recent source and I cannot get it to build. It seems like "dma.stat_rq" is missing from the dma struct. Not sure if this will be coming in a future commit or if I'm doing something wrong (which is equally, if not more, likely). Below is the full text of th...

Re: Descent 3 Demo Graphical Issues

Followup: Looks like the other ViRGE chipset that omarsis81 used in their testing is a little more stable. There's still flickering, but it's nowhere near as bad.

Re: Descent 3 Demo Graphical Issues

So, this game would not run on the S3 virge? I guess that's good to know then. It's been a very long time since I had a physical machine that was on-spec for when this came out so I couldn't check otherwise. Thank you leilei. Also, I was mistaken with the 1997 date. I will be correcting that in the ...

Re: Descent 3 Demo Graphical Issues

Worth noting again, this is a demo from early 1999, not the demo from later (Sol Ascent) or the full game. I haven't gotten up to testing regular Descent 3 yet :)

Descent 3 Demo Graphical Issues

Hello all. I've run into some odd graphical issues when trying to run the Descent 3 demo from the Descent Definitive Collection. The game speed is what I'd assume for my base hardware, but every single screen seems to have the textures split along the diagonal, along with some wrapped graphics where...

Re: More SCAT chipset machines

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing that the phoenix.bin could then just be reconstructed odd/even from the other 2? Thanks for your patches, by the way, nice to see so many machines get their day :)

Re: More SCAT chipset machines

Out of curiosity, I saw in the commit that the Samsung SPC-4216P can use a file called phoenix.bin as well as (instead of?) the split roms. What was that file for, exactly? Sorry if this seems like a trivial question.

...please disregard this. It seems like I had not cleaned the source folder before attempting to build. That was entirely my fault. You can delete or lock this thread.

IBM XT Model 286 not seeing bios files

After compiling the newest version of the source that includes the IBM XT 286 addition (wxWidgets/SDL2 + networking build), I cannot get PCem to recognize that my bios files are actually in the folder. Using the source as a guide, I have in the roms folder: ibmxt286/BIOS_5162_21APR86_U34_78X7460_272...

Re: PCem MSYS2 build guide (with wxWidgets)

I got the networking build to work with a couple of very tiny tweaks: - Downloading the developer pack from https://www.winpcap.org/devel.htm - Extracting the "include" and "lib" folders to <msys>\mingw32 (thanks to ruben_balea for figuring it out) - Changing the top of nethandle...
