Re: Maybe create a set of recommended system profiles?

PCem limits settings to what is actually possible, not what is reasonable. The latter is quite subjective.

For now, I can not leave the source code, because I do not know if it can be distributed, because it is based on PCEM
PCem is licensed under the GPL, so you are required to provide the source code for any derivative works.

x86, just like in older versions. x86-64 is only for if you can't use the x86 version.

Is the test program you're using here something you can provide? (ie without posting copyrighted material to the forum...)

Re: Maybe create a set of recommended system profiles?

The specs listed in readme.txt since v14 do try to give a rough idea of what's realistic on each machine. It's been well established that no-one reads readme.txt though.

Re: Maybe create a set of recommended system profiles?

The problem with this is most people will probably only have a few ROMs available. So either you have a vast number of default configurations to cover every possible combination (which would probably defeat the purpose of doing this), or you come up with some system to dynamically adjust the preset ...

The 5150 BIOS doesn't support high density floppies. You need at least an AT (5170).

Re: Minor bugs

-Not necessarily a bug, but in latest releases it's not possible to use relative paths for the hdd or the media. This was possible before the new GUI, I think.
If relative paths ever worked, it was only by accident. This has never been supported.

Re: v15 & new recompiler update

No. Here's my view on that from a previous thread : I've tried accepting donations in the past on another project (RPCemu). My experience was that it just put pressure on me to force myself to work on the project when I was burnt out, or otherwise not in a state to work on it. That's something I rea...

Re: CGA mode select register (3D8h) inaccuracy

PCem doesn't currently emulate 3d8h bit 3 at all, so it's not entirely surprising it doesn't work. Should be pretty trivial to add...

Sounds like it could be a video driver issue, have you tried changing the Render Driver option in the Video menu?

ASUS P/I-P55T2P4 is missing any 430HX emulation. Is there a file missing from the patch?

Re: [Patch] Fixed DS12C887/TC8521 RTC days in month index

Looks like this would only be a problem if PCem was running at midnight on the last day of the month, and even then the RTC would most likely sync with the host machine so the error would be pretty short lived. Still, good to have it fixed! Merged at rev 1203.

Re: SuperIO emulation

The current '430VX' system uses the UM8669F for SuperIO. So um8669f.c is a better place to look :) On the SuperIO datasheets I've seen, generally most of the datasheet is covering the FDC component, which is in fdc.c. A lot of the other common SuperIO functionality either isn't emulated (eg EPP/ECP ...

Re: v15 & new recompiler update

My curiosity is if there's proper treatment of the VC4 as the video drivers are pretty slow and would likely bottleneck. At present I'm using a Gentoo variant which uses entirely software based composition, so the answer is currently no ;) Video performance isn't too bad though, since all blitting ...

v15 & new recompiler update

Just a quick end-of-year update to let you know the status of v15 and the new dynamic recompiler I've been working on since v14. The new recompiler has finally hit feature and performance parity with the v14 recompiler. I've not done exhaustive performance comparisions, but it looks like the new x86...

If Sarah is interested, I'll submit it as formal patch for inclusion upstream once the kinks have been worked out. Not especially, to be honest. The autotools system should work for almost all setups, with Ming/W being the exception. I'd rather work to fix the existing issues with the autotools set...
