This is need some bugfixing or some HDD fixing / migration utility, my image where quite new and there was this problem from the start.

I test whole batch of Dosbox, Wmware, Virtualbox and QEMU 4.2 DOS machine on some real HW.. and only PCem its only one with these very long loading times and very slow menu, so something is not right, i even tried same disc images with Virtualbox so its not about some DOS 7 configuration mistake.

What is the most powerful CPU that can be emulated with that GPD Win 2?
