Re: Photo Importing

copy the photos to a folder, make an iso image out of the folder (I'd use genisoimage in Linux for this; not sure what you'd use in windows), load the images inside of pcem?

It's on bitsavers, which is a hint -but only a hint. That's not the same as being explicitly made free. It does mean that it's unlikely that the BSA will kick down your door.

Also, a version of DOS 2 is there as well.

Re: [Request] Ubuntu ppa / linux binaries

Sorry, pal, but saying, that Linux made it's way in a wrong direction, 'cause there are people, that don't want to or even can't build packages themselves, is not serious and a typical troll post. Only if you're the kind of person who conflates disagreement with trolling, as you appear to be. All I...

Re: Linux

I've tried Slackware 2.2 and 3.5 on a variety of machines; it seems to always die after floppy drive detection on both. I haven't tried with 128m but with 16m, 24m and 64m (I ran the real machines with those in the 90's). [edit] Ditto for Redhat 5.1 I'm using pcem v12 on windows 10 on an amd a8; all...

Thanks! I was able to set up a 2121 (not sure how accurate) and boot it into DOS -but never figured out how to get past having to press F1. TY for the writeup :)

A glance at this thread: http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?30333-enter-bios-settings-IBM-PS-1-2121-386-sx-machine suggests getting a file from this site: http://greyghost.mooo.com/pccbbs/ps1/ and that's about as far as I've gotten. I just installed os/2 2.1 on an emulated ps/1 2121 with a 129 hd and 6m ram. That was using the stock wine (1.6) which came from the mint 18 repositories. The performance is what I'd expect, the UI is better than I remember -though I did have to toggle the "settings -> video -> resizeable scree...

Re: Is linux version being worked on?

Were you able to install windows 98 on it without crashing ? "without it crashing" is reletive, of course. I did have to do a hard reset immediately after install; that might have been my impatience, though. I didn't get a blue screen. Apart from that, I was able to install it, run the vi...

For the sake of reference

I'm not sure that pcem can make a direct 1:1 model, but this site has some good entries for figuring out what was high-end (and average?) for different years ( 90 , 91 , and 92 in particular): Chronology Of Personal Computers That might be useful if you need or want to make "authentic" or ...

Re: NT4 could not logon after SP6a installed

I'm guessing NT works without sp6, haven't done a lot with it in all honesty. NT isn't the main thing I want to use pcem for, honestly -I played with it more as a test to see what I can do with my ancient deskopt more than anything else.

Solution for using ISO files under Windows 7/x64?

Right now I'm using wincdemu on a recent compiliation of PCem on windows 7/x64. Pcem runs fine, except that when I point it at the virtual cd device it seems to get confused and cannot read the drive (except for nt 3.51, which installed from the virtual cd just fine). I'd like suggestions for how to...

Re: sound stutters on win95 and win98

What is the speed % displayed on the title bar? If this drops below 100% then sound will stutter, and you should reduce the speed of the CPU you're emulating. Given your host machine I can tell you that you have no chance of emulating a PMMX/233 at full speed. I took it down to a pentium 75 and it ...

sound stutters on win95 and win98
