Re: unfinished PowerVR PCX emulation stub
LOL, even my RIVA TNT emulation is more complete. at least that does VESA, and somewhat tries to emulate the card.

This patch fixes modern Linux. I can boot latest Gentoo, in fact, though the cd-rom drive is still not properly detected.

Re: nightly builds
Yeah Networking would be wonderful I want that second most of all functions. First most would be a virtual gamepad mapping system. So we could pass through modern gamepads to put in compatible button presses. Right now I can map them to keys easy enough, but not much luck with anything analog. Even...

Latest Arch Linux Live CD doesn't boot
While PCem-Experimental can boot the CD, but not the kernel, due to only emulating the Pentium, vanilla PCem fails to even boot the CD from the BIOS!

Re: [Q] Roland SC-55/SC-88 emulation?
External MIDI modules would be outside the scope quite frankly, and would be overkill to have emulation of them within. and then there's the whole rom dumping thing and the fact there were legal troubles there was in the past for MUNT with its MT32 emulation You're best off having a something rathe...

Re: FredPJ's feature suggestions
Well, I wrote the nVidia emulation, and I think that code is relatively clean. It can only do VESA though, as development has stalled at trying to get the Win9x drivers to work. I tried submitting that code to you in the past, but you rejected it after seemingly barely looking at it. That's why I st...

Re: Security issues in PCem [possible emulator escape]
I'm pretty sure PCem isn't the only emulator where this sort of thing is possible, and very far from the most popular one. I will fix these issues, I'm just saying that this isn't something really worth worrying about that much. Actually, the only other emulator that's had these issues is ZSNES. A ...

Great, thanks Tom! Can't wait to test it, however it will be a long struggle against the Great Firewall of China, where I live (almost impossible to download any large binary from abroad) Any chance there is a "start in full screen" switch in this version, or an upcoming patch? ;) Really?...

Re: v10 released!
The two AMI BIOS'es only support PS/2 mouse, but PCem gives the Advanced/EV a serial mouse, hence why it doesn't detect it. And yes, for some reason, some PCem crashes can be nasty. Especially when 64-bit PCem for Windows crashes, it will slow down the entire host input event handler until it is fo...

- TomWalker: No idea. I guess just to mention what we were doing. :p Basically, yes. Our P6 timing is also inaccurate currently, using the Pentium timings right now. This is another priority since accurate P6 emulation will pave the way for emulating much more modern processors with correct timings...

Re: ati VGA Edge-16 test 800x600x16 colour mode failure
This appears to be a case of Windows programming some weird register to specify the SVGA display height that PCem doesn't take into account. It fails in MS-DOS too... so it's something about this ATI mode. I guess somewhere in vid_svga? No, it would be in the ATI-specific source file. Remember, eac...

Re: Battler's speed issues
PCem-X is even slower when set to use a Pentium II Overdrive 333 on a 440FX motherboard. BTW, just in case Tom needs an acid test for Pentium 2 additions, XP setup stumped OBattler for quite a while. He eventually had to bypass most of Tom's segment code in SYSENTER/SYSEXIT since XP doesn't work oth...

Why would I remove it from source control? I might want to return to it at some point, and in any case it's not enabled in release builds. nVidia RIVA 128 patch
So far, this code only supports VESA 1.0 modes and banked VESA 2.0 modes. I'm guessing that this will probably be enough for DOS games at least. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 95. IT WILL THINK THE EMULATED CARD IS NOT A RIVA 128 AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO USE THE DRIVERS. diff -r 9c8f3b0a7e7f src/Mak...
