Re: is pcem v18 cancelled?

I see why Sarah gave up, Well, I don't know if you have been here when v17 was just released, but there was a contributor called Battler who was also a developer of an emulator called 86Box, and he was trying to ram 86Box down her throat. She got furious, to the point that she actually used the &qu...

Re: is pcem v18 cancelled?

No.
Michael devoted most of his time on other projects. It will be released, but PCem is not a priority for him.

Re: PCem v18 News (Was v17 Notice)

So there, thats your v18 if you can't wait for stable. People have a life, can't always develop on PCem. I agree with everything Michael just said. It seems that every page of this thread, there is someone who is asking when the next release is. Some people just don't get that emulator developers h...

Thanks. I had this problem before ages ago, so I had forgotten how to fix it.
Also, I have no idea why it does that.

Blank screen upon selecting configuration

I am using PCem v17 for Linux, and I am trying to install Windows 98 on a hard drive. Before it got to the ScanDisk program, I noticed some odd pixels scattered all over the screen before it locked up. I tried opening the configuration again and instead of being greeted with the POST, all I get is a...

unable to compile PCem under Linux

I am using Zorin OS 16 (Ubuntu 20.04 base) and I am installing a fresh copy of PCem v17. I am up to the stage where I am running make . Everything runs fine, until I get the following output: wx-app.h:58:29: error: invalid use of incomplete type ‘class wxCommandEvent’ 58 | class CallbackEvent: publi...

MT-32 and Linux

I would like to point out that recently I have tried to play various Sierra games using the MT-32 (via MUNT), but I could not do this under the Linux version of PCemv17 Linux. In the Windows version, there is a "MIDI output device" in the Soundcard settings that allow you to do this, but a...

I use the Linux version of PCem, yet the "MIDI out device" feature isn't implemented. But I managed to run the Windows version of v17 through Wine with MUNT, and it works perfectly.

Re: Future sound card musings

Thanks. Any plans for Roland MT-32? You can already emulate that using Munt. So far I have not got MT-32 to work in PCem v17, even when MUNT is activated. According to one of the screenshots http://blog.tcltk.co.kr/?p=3865 Is there any configuration files http://blog.tcltk.co.kr/?p=3865]here , you ...

General MIDI not working

I am trying to use the General MIDI sound device on PCem v17 running under Ubuntu 18.04. The SB16 and SBAWE32 sound cards have built-in MPU-401 chips on their boards. When I tried to run Sierra games using GM under PCemv16, I had an error that said "pcem: rawmidi.c:978: snd_rawmidi_write: Asser...

What caused the error in the first place was me individually installing gcc first in the Ubuntu repository instead of build-essential first. miraMiracle: "And by the way: did you compile PCem that it works before?" I had LMD installed on my Mac machine and compiled v15 there, and I had no ...

Unable to compile PCem v16 for Linux

I am attempting to compile PCem v16 on my new system (AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 1650) running Ubuntu 20.04. I always followed the instructions in the Readme-LINUX.txt file, and I seemed to compile previous PCems without any problems, but that was done on a different system, but PCem...

The date of the releases so far was:

April 20, 2018
May 19, 2019

I thought there must be some kind of pattern there. As for the release, I may be right, I may be wrong.
Besides I was joking, hence the "lol" at the end.

Re: How to connect a folder in PCem to my own Computer?

I'd use WinImage to create a new disk image then transfer the driver file onto the image. Then when you boot up your OS within PCem, you will be able to drag the driver file onto the desktop or just load up the driver from whatever drive the disk is in. (eg: if you created a 1.4M image with the driv...

Re: unable to compile PCem under Linux

Good news. The main problem was with PinguyOS 18.04. It would not let me compile PCem in a Terminal without complaining about broken dependencies, and when I tried to install those ones, it gave me more dependencies to worry about, and then it went on and on until I just gave up. Even when I tried w...
