Re: Emulating p3 with winxp?
I have found most games run just fine in Windows 10 from even as early as 2003 and beyond. At least the games I have. Hell once you get to even 2000 there are few I have trouble with mostly 16 bit installers being a problem and the few that still existed often have work arounds.

Re: v17 released!
Nice now emulators can fake a machine better than the first family computer my family could finally afford it was a PII 350 with some integrated 4mb card. Could not even 3d Diablo II had a 4.3 gb harddrive that died about 6 months in and was replaced with a 6.4gb because that was the smallest ones G...

Thank you, can't imagine needing more storage space than this. Take one more reason I maintain an older computer off the list.

Almost need something like a wiki at this point in the project to organize the mountain of information that can come with a compatibility list. Not complaining just thinking you might all be at that point now.

Re: Large (> 8GB) hard drive support
Just because I really have no clue. I was wondering if the larger drive images cause any hit to performance for PCEM? If not ... I think it would be a great time for a fresh win98 install

Re: 3DFX emulation
I think we're going to have to wait for someone to actually buy a Ryzen before we know if it's worthwhile or not. My gut feeling is it's _probably_ worth waiting for the second generation at least. I'd expect though that if you buy a big i7 you probably won't be disappointed. gen_angry got some pre...

Re: 3DFX emulation
Adding SLI emulation is a major development for PCem. I have never run a PC with an SLI configuration, so I am eager to use this feature when the time comes. So, we finally DID have our surprise for v13 after all Sarah! ;) Adding SLI to PCem would seem to raise the question of buying an Intel or AM...

Seems this program is leaning me more and more towards a Ryzen Build. I am interested to see what the next chips from AMD bring. But hey if a 6 core Intel comes out at a competitive price that might be nice as well. I love how Hardware is starting to pick up and I got some software that is going re...

Re: Black Dahlia says not enough free space
Used a Pirate first CD and it installed without any trouble or fixes or patches. As far as I can tell once installed the game is running just fine so likely some problem with the disc and you are all right not a PCEM problem.

Black Dahlia says not enough free space
Clearly showing enough space for the game but it continues to tell me it does not have enough. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Midtown Madness is working flawlessly as far as I can tell only issue is my weak hardware lol. Since I was only getting about 75-80% speed. Re: P300MMX?
I am hoping that the first Ryzen refresh will give me around that 6700's performance in this emulator I think 300Mhz would be plenty for a while and maybe my next computer could do a 450 P2 or K6-2. ... maybe a little more as the emulator improves as well can't wait. Even if that is exactly what I a...

Yes I am interested in seeing what happens with AMD if they continue down this road and I think they have earned my money. Even If I am waiting for a PCI-E 4.0 board before buying a new computer. Who knows maybe some of the problems can be worked out of it by that point. I have heard that the UEFIs ...

That one just works for some reason seems everything is working as it should and the original .exe is now working as well. Now I got a crash after trying to boot from the HDD but I will mess around with that a bit and see how it goes before starting a new thread.

If you got a computer that can run SLI emulation I am definitely envious. LOL, no, of course I don't. I believe SLI is not implemented yet and you would requiere a Pentium II to get some juice out of them. Re: Can we make PCem much faster?
I am excited to hear that 500-600 Mhz could be reach on modern hardware. That is about as far as you really need to go beyond that I find Virtualization picks up the rest of the slack for Windows games at least. Hell a 450 Pentium II should really be fine. And I am thinking I am waiting till PCI-E 4...
