Re: CDROM on older machines

First, I'm not sure what you call "older machines" all PCem machines are more than 20 years old...
By default, PCem assigns D: to the CDROM... but that can be easily configured in the menu
For what I know, IDE controllers do not have an independent bios

PCem networking made easy

Most of us are having problem connecting the newly network card (I couldn't either).
Couldn't be easier for playing multiplayer games to emulate the "serial link" cable? Most DOS and early Windows had that kind of connection and in the host side connect both computers over WiFi

Re: Pre-v13WIP compat list

Like I said, Verilog or programming FPGA programing is very different than C, there you program 0 and 1, transistor, nothing like C. I don't think Sarah nor anyone would benefit from that FPGA code

Re: Pre-v13WIP compat list

szadycbr: that would be awesome, I'd definitely would like to have a 486/Pentium on a FPGA chip. There was this project called Flea86 https://www.fleasystems.com/flea86.html you can also find some videos on Youtube. It is now abandoned :( For what I read FPGA emulation is much limited by current pro...

Re: v13 released!

I don't have any plans to emulate nVidia stuff. Banshee/Voodoo 3 are fairly likely, along with the new recompiler. Though I'm toying with doing a smaller v14 release early in the year, with the new recompiler coming in v15 towards the end of the year. Haven't made any decision on that yet though. D...

Re: Pre-v13WIP compat list

The only way to make 1:1 behavior is to open the chip and with a powerful microscope and/or camera capture every transistor, like the guys at http://www.visual6502.org did. I believe then you can build an emulator with Verilog or VHDL

Re: Pre-v13WIP compat list

Can anyone explain to me how this could happen? It's not a wrapper, it's a full emulation, 1to1. It can have slow performance but not some ruined features. I don't understand. Well, I'm not a programmer, but I understand it is clearly not 1:1 emulation, it has bugs like most programs do. Sometimes ...

omarsis81: I suggest you to try the openGL (either the normal, or the GL3) video modes instead of the older ones. Those black bars when resizeing using integrated Intel graphics, now I'm testing using an nVidia card and when I hold the mouse button while resizeing there is a gray background. PCem 13 first impressions

I only spent 15 minutes with it, but overall I really like the new changes! However, what I found most annoying was the rescaling, the resize option with the 4:3 enabled. No matter what option I switch, I can't remove the black bars. In PCem 12 this never happened, resizing was perfect! Sure, I can ...

Re: invalid opcode 0f44

"PCem does emulate up to (a) 5x86" is a dangerous statement imo
the AMD 5x86 was introduced in November 1995, that would lead one's to think PCem doesn't have the Pentium 150 onward (those were launched in early 1996), let alone, the Pentium MMX in 1997

Re: PCEM -> Crusader Regret CPU Dynamic Recompiled problem.

It is sertainly not BS, I have seen lots of games with that kind of sloweness, as a matter of fact this past weekend I was playing Shogun: Total War. In the 3D envieronment it works always at 100%, but in the 2D strategic map it runs at 60% or less of the speed. I think it is not easy to solve, but ...
