[Bug] Sound very quiet

Hello, I am emulating i486DX2/66, 16mb ram, Diamond Stealth 32, SIS 496/497 board, sound blaster 16, running a DOS 6.22-only machine. Using the SB16 driver CD found at: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/index.php?catid=7 The host machine is using a Sound Blaster Z. Whenever I play games, it detects the c...

Re: ST-412/ST-506/ESDI hard drive emulation?

Probably would just require a large list of existing drive configs and a "custom string" for it? Maybe for a dropdown so a user could pick from a list of pre-defined drives or choose to build their own "custom drive". I'd be willing to try to track down or build a "list of different drives" if there...

Re: [Request] Super Socket 7/AGP

Asus P5A or Gigabyte GA-5AX are two alternate boards. I've never owned an Ali board at any time so I cant really comment how it is. As for processor tech info, would any of this may be of help? http://www.amd-k6.com/cpu-specs/ In either case, I had just been doing some spring cleaning and dug out m...

[Request] Super Socket 7/AGP

Hello,

With modern machines starting to reach the limits of what a P300-MMX can do, I am curious if there are any plans to eventually implement Super Socket 7/AGP/UDMA support?

ie: http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/epox/EP-58MVP3C-M.htm

Thank you

Re: Thank you for creating this emulator!

This post is over 2 1/2 years old, lol.

In any case: min specs for win98 is a 486DX/66 with 16mb ram. However, you could get the win98 machine working decently using a Pentium 75/430vx/32mb ram system or better.

I would echo this request, or at least add an option to disable it.

Not really a fan of the blinking white block on the screen myself.

Re: ST-412/ST-506/ESDI hard drive emulation?

Following this a bit since I am interested in making an AT machine at some point. There is a list of those disks somewhere on the forums, they vary between 10 and 40 Mb (except ESDI disks that can be bigger). Or at least, that HDD controller should allow the connection of disk types defined on IBM A...

Re: P300MMX?

Though as for slow recompiler suggestions, Puyo Puyo 2 is up there and that's a 2D only game that struggles on my computer at the lower Pentiums. It's slower in that than Deus Ex for me :) http://i.imgur.com/oksla8n.jpg heh. I can't read Japanese so I haven't a clue what to do with the menu/buttons...

And here's some Voodoo stuff: Deus Ex Demo 800x600 - http://i.imgur.com/RIUBEIX.jpg smooth'ish gameplay, minor stutters. Turok 1 "Voodoo 2 DirectX 7 Driver" @ 800x600, using "3dfx Voodoo Graphics Default" - http://i.imgur.com/AGUDTg1.jpg intro + menu is a bit laggy but gameplay itself feels smooth. ...

What would be a solid "max cpu" benchmark for win98se? I'll give it a try, I'm curious about this too.

Quake 3 was the first thing that I thought of that could stress a machine of that era.

Stock, so 4.0/4.2 turbo.

I can run any other program on request if anyone would like to see how it runs.

Re: Ryzen

The whole release feels like a lot of smoke and mirrors, pre-launch reviewers doing their tests at 4K where CPU performance isn't as bottlenecked. There's also a wide variety in reviews, some are claiming benchmarks much higher then others. However, it wasn't a total flop. If I was someone who pre-o...

P300MMX?

Hello, I am setting up a Windows 98SE machine for that era of games, one thing I've noticed around this board is that people post about running a Pentium 300 MMX. The highest selection that I seem to have is a Pentium 233 MMX, is there a special BIOS revision that has this CPU or something? edit: I ...

Re: Feature request: revamping config files

Similarly related question with multi-config: any chance we could have the BIOS saved data stored in separate roms as well? For example: Im using the 430VX chipset for both a P75 machine and a P233MMX machine. The BIOS settings are "shared" between the two machines, so I can't make any drastic chang...

For the meantime, I've worked around this issue by creating a "RUN ME.bat" file that works anywhere. @echo off e: cd\pcem del pcem.cfg :START cls @echo. @echo 1.
