Jedi Knight menu hangs

Easily reproducible by going into Options/Video and simply hovering the mouse over the video mode list. Also trying to start a new single player game will trigger the hang. The cursor will disappear and the system will freeze (task manager won't save you here) AM5x86(both recompiler and interpreter)...

Re: 3DFX compatibility list

Return Fire II in Glide will cause PCem to crash when selecting a vehicle in-game. Nothing in the log, just an emulator crash. Voodoo2

(Soft3d works, OpenGL's for the more mature primary video cards not emulated so I didn't try that)

One Must Fall 2097 mutes the SB16

Odd bug. Sound is actually playing but it's muted even when you unmute in Windows (which it'll then be muted again until you remute/unmute it). It'll also do it in pure DOS

I believe it's related to the patch that silenced the Talking Parrot.

Thanks, it works now. :) also out of curiosity I tried to install June 97 Ensoniq AudioPCI drivers on 1371 and it failed to detect. That's 1370 it wants i'm guessing. EDIT: Boredom had lead to hacking in ES1370 and had no sound and the dos driver gets upset over the revision id being out of date (de...

AudioPCI impressions

Just checking the new AudioPCI and it's impressive so far. Testing SB PCI 128 -Windows ME's WDM drivers makes PCem quit after a reboot and doesn't have any sound -Creative's WDM driver has no sound either - VXD drivers work in Win98SE -With Creative's SB 128 drivers (dated to 2000) SBLEGACY causes a...

--config doesn't apply to nvr files

It'll try to read and write a .whatever.nvr instead (instead of config.whatever.nvr)

Didn't feel like bumping a thread to point out this minor bug.

(could also be a little more convenient to find whatever.nvr first if config.whatever.nvr doesn't exist, then write to config.whatever.nvr)

Re: v13 feature freeze end of Friday 13th October

The only feature I think that could be in before the freeze is emulating the overscan area. Games like Commander Keen are missing their cyan borders and all those CRT shaders clip of the edge of text a little too much

Re: ST-412/ST-506/ESDI hard drive emulation?

From a quick test, one of these recent commits (since Oct 3) regressed the floppy controller in MR 386DX (so far) EDIT: turns out it's a bug with PC/GEOS's professional workspace's GeoManager accessing floppies somehow stalling the controller across even hard resets and may/may not involve the recen...

Re: 8086 emulation

When I need a "cracked version" of a game I do have, it's pretty trivial to copy/install and run Rawcopy or Neverlock on it afterward (if it's old enough to be covered)... I don't condone "abandonware" sites. They're often a case of false bug reports due to their lack of quality control (usually fro...

Re: Resolution in the Status tab

Real VGA cards don't actually output 320x200/240. There's ways that some can implement a 256 height resolution to avoid the doublescan though (some old emulators did this) but I've never seen a DOS game running in 640x200 There's plenty of games that play in that resolution. Most typically they're P...

The NEC PC-9821 line is also similarly slapped together. The closest model of that I can find that PCem would have a chance at is the PC-9821V233 (a 430VX PMMX233)

Write-back 486s?

Currently all of the DX4/x5 processors are identified as write-through with no write-back models available

My AM5x86-133 was a write-back, and benched better in Speedsys than PCem at the same clock rate (160mhz) so i wonder if that has anything to do with it.

V12's release is profile-optimized and the builds I do use -flto (link-time optimization, nowhere near pgo-speeds but close enough for quick testing and it's safe to use). Have you tried -flto?
