Re: [Crash] Requiem: Avenging Angel, 3dfx
Probably next year. Can't give us a half or even better a quarter it might appear? No need to really mostly joking with you but a year is a long amount of time to plan for something being released. I guess I will just tell myself be ready for it coming out on 12/31/17 and anything sooner will be a ...

Re: Emulation of Voodoo Banshee, SLI and AGP.
I think it be alright to see these cards available but maybe something to go back to after Voodoo 2, but much longer after if you got Voodoo 3 it will do everything you could ever want from a voodoo based system. You even get good 2D and anything beyond it would come about in a time that D3D and Ope...

Re: nightly builds
Yeah Networking would be wonderful I want that second most of all functions. First most would be a virtual gamepad mapping system. So we could pass through modern gamepads to put in compatible button presses. Right now I can map them to keys easy enough, but not much luck with anything analog. Even ...

Re: Help with reading disc?
I agree with Zup I would use a Virtualbox setup of say windows XP and see if its built in Dos emulation can play it. Since your not looking at a game it really should not need anything special. If that does not work move on to dosbox, if it needs windows look into installing 3.x into dosbox. Still n...

Re: Joystick detection
I would love to see some later USB joysticks emulated in the future and maybe up to something like 4 devices at a time. I recall having a USB controller with a dpad an analog stick and 8 buttons in the around 2000 ish. Also had a gyro for tilts that acted like dpad presses. So even windows 9X times ...

Re: How is Voodoo performance doing in latest REVs
Well Pentium being still a bottleneck I say it might be time to go Voodoo II I'm not sure you know what a bottleneck is.. Amen to that. Both my laptop and my i3 desktop can run Wolf3D on a P75 fine, but Doom and Duke Nukem 3D are a lost cause. Getting ~60% on P75 and ~75% on P66 for Doom, Duke Nuke...

Re: How is Voodoo performance doing in latest REVs
On my machine (Core i5-3550) with the recompiler enabled and using 2 render threads, the emulated fillrate is now always at or above the rate of the real card (35-40 mpixels/sec in actual games) in the games I tried. I have seen it go considerably faster (> 100 mpixels/sec) in one game (Shadowman),...

How is Voodoo performance doing in latest REVs
First off I could never figure out how to compile the latest revisions of this emulator. So instead I was wondering if someone could tell me how the performance of Voodoo 1 emulation is doing. If I am not mistaking it is now being handled with a recompiler. I also remember being told that Voodoo 1 w...

Re: Host machine survey
I do wonder about Voodoo 2 is it really no more than a Voodoo with an extra texture unit and a higher clock? If so I could understand why there would be little rush to emulate it. Still it does not seem like it would take much more to do so. I also am guessing the extra CPU power it would take would...

Re: Writing down about performance in PCem
I am running some glide games at full speed just fine with voodoo emulation on a Phenom II system. What chokes my system is the higher clocked Pentiums. But sub 200 MHZ I seem ok and around 90 mhz I can run anything Voodoo that is emulated well at this point full out. Well full out if it could origi...

Re: 3DFX compatibility list
I thought voodoo 1 was only a DX3 card Voodoo2 got up to DX5 since 4 was more or less skipped. I don't think 3DFX survived long enough to get to 8 but by that point I would recommend a virtualization solution and windows XP. Do you have an example of some DX8 games that don't work in a Virtual Machi...

At what revision did support for more than 16 heads start? I must have missed that memo . I thought we still had that limit keeping us back at 8 gb drives? If this is true that we can go beyond that point I am very excited.

What are the goals of a 64 bit versus 32 bit options? I see some mention of it in the latest reversions and just curious of what we are hoping to gain. I know that sounds like I am trying to say it is pointless, but my framing of the question comes completely out of ignorance. I love hearing about g...

I'm sure I speak for many when I say that your "insanity" is one of the better things to come along in the emulation scene in many years, Tom. ;) You've single-handedly brought the current state of PC emulation up to something respectable. It's actually been quite something to observe the...

Re: How did the Pentium MXX Mobile Chips compare to Desktop
So the limits are only physical limits because of the form factor? Nothing to limit the chip itself? Also as I stated above in this emulator to use the mobile chips are we going have to emulate a laptop motherboard to pair with it or not?

So many people think all the good games are already emulated, some think that a virtualmachine can do everything. Re: Dynamic recompiler
Rev 250 also hits one of my performance targets for v10 - on my machine (Core i5-something-or-other, ~3.6 GHz) Quake II timedemo demo1, in software at 320x240, hits 20 fps without the emulator dropping below 100%. On P166 I think, with infinite cache. Does 3D acceleration hurt or help framerate in ...
