Re: VHD support
Hi, first and foremost thanks for PCEm: the feeling of having my first PC ever up and running is so genuine that it's giving me the chills. Quick question: is there a reason why for hard disks the IMG format was chosen over VHD? Is support for VHD eventually planned? Thanks You can convert VHD to i...

As I said though, Windows 2000 works okay for me, with pretty much the same configuration you're both using.

Re: How to remove the hard disk activity indicator?
Hello, and welcome to my first post on the forum! I've absolutely loved this emulator so far and hope it continues to grow. I'm especially excited for the in-development Pentium emulation and the 3D acceleration -- the latter especially hasn't been attempted much on emulators thus far. So, anyhoo, ...

Re: Weird IBM PC AT Error at Boot
Yep, the BIOS ROMS I'm using are the correct ones. Checked the MD5 checksums for them and they come out the same. I can still boot it. It's just a little bit annoying. Looking at the info I can find, it seems to suggest that it might be a problem concerning how the clock is emulated (looking at wha...

POSReady 2009 is basically XP but still supported and some multimedia stuff removed. It also uses a graphical install right from the beginning. Problem was that the install freezes shortly after the format options screen. Config: CPU: Pentium 133 Mem: 256 MB GPU: S3 Trio64 BIOS: Award 430VX PCI HDD:...

Re: Voodoo emulation?
Why suggest how Tom increments PCem versions? It seems many here already compile from source, so it wouldn't affect them. Perhaps it is so that others obtain versions without bugs? In that case, then the unfinished ne2000 patch would likely introduce additional bugs into trunk because it is under-t...

Re: Voodoo emulation?
I'd rather not have the 18 month development time again. v8's development was a nightmare. In any case, I think the recompiler will probably be a major enough change for a release on its own. True, but then people would think that outside the recompiler, v10 would not have much else added. And it s...

Got improvements:
Max speed in no skipping test:
Interpreter: 75 MHz 486
Rev 173-186 recompiler: 80 MHz 486
Rev 187 recompiler: 100 MHz 486
Nonetheless the Pentium Overdrive/83 is quite consistent.

Copied more opcode timings and removed the cycle dividing crap. Pentium OverDrive emulation
This is code that adds Pentium Overdrive for 486 systems emulation.
There were two models released, 63 MHz (25x2.5) and 83 MHz (33x2.5).
This requires the dynamic recompiler to be enabled.

Unable to enable dynamic recompiling.
On 64-bit windows.
I add -DDYNAREC to makefile.mingw, and it compiles successfully, but it doesn't seem to pick it up.
EDIT: Working now.
