Re: PCem v9 r304: Trident TGUI9440 text mode display corrupt
After reading here: http://web.stanford.edu/class/cs140/projects/pintos/specs/freevga/vga/extreg.htm , seems this: O/E Page -- Odd/Even Page Select "Selects the upper/lower 64K page of memory when the system is in an eve/odd mode (modes 0,1,2,3,7). = 0 selects the low page = 1 selects the high...

PCem v9 r304: Trident TGUI9440 text mode display corruption
I'm using the Trident TGUI9440 driver for the AMI WinBIOS 486 machine (Intel 80486 33MHz w/16 MB RAM, Sound Blaster 16 sound card) and since I updated to PCem v9 r304, I'm starting to notice display corruption issue when running MS-DOS 6.22 in text mode. Flight Simulator 5.1 no longer hangs or crashes PCem v9 on exit with r304! :D The bad news still is that Microsoft Defrag and Norton Speedisk both do not retain the correct colours after exiting Microsoft Space Simulator. It must be either something with the S3 Trio compatible adapters or bugs in th...

Thank you!
There is no r304 debugger version of PCem. I'll be reporting any problems that may arise in r304 once it occurs.

The latest version of PCem is version 9. You can find it on the Downloads section. The latest revision that I currently have installed is r292 and sadly, I will be stuck at this revision, until either v10 is released or someone complies the latest revision of PCem v9.

Also, JPEG images messed up in IE, Windows 9x and 2k/XP. On 16-bit or 24/32-bit color mode. I tried a couple of video cards and none of them could get rid of this issue. I'm wondering if JPEG images in Windows NT (3.1, 3.5x and 4.0) has the same corruption issue as well. Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1...

Direct3D Bug: Display flickering frequently
Does anyone have a problem running the latest revision of PCem v9 using the Direct3D video mode? For me, I'm currently running the Award SiS 496/497 machine (486DX2 @ 66 MHz with 64 MB RAM, Number Nine FX graphics card with 2 MB VRAM) for example. I would also like to see SLiRP networking support (ported from QEMU)! :) That way it would be much easier to go online in PCem. QEMM doesn't run on v9. I fixed it last night, in rev 290. DESQview has/had the same issue, I haven't tested DESQview/X yet. Thank you for telling me. QEMM did run on v8.1 though. I suspect that one of the reason why QEMM didn't run is the REP instructions in 32-bit mode with both 0x66 and 0x67 was...

I sure hope that bug gets fixed soon. The bug is not present in Norton Commander v5.51 (released in 1999), the last version that supported MS-DOS. I tested it on a Award SiS 496/497 BIOS (486SX, 486SX2, 486DX, 486DX2 and 486DX4) and it found no problems.

Re: Award Sis 496/497 and 430VX do not detect HDDs
It is strange. However, this only applies to the first revision of the SiS 496/497 chipset. The 3rd revision of the SiS 497/497 chipset released on 7 October 1995 fixed the 4,096 cylinder (1.97 GB) bug. It has a file name of SIS496_3.AWA.
