Guide to getting networking working?

It's been a long time since the 90s. Also, Win98 SE doesn't detect any network card, and I don't know how to fix it. I selected "Novell NE2000" in the configuration. No driver I try works.

Also got my Windows 98SE install working again, so thanks. :)

Well, once I ran through the HDD auto-detection again. Rev 873, just to note.

Any help for building with network support AND WX? Every time I try to build Makefile.mingw-wx-sdl2-network mingw errors out on wx-hostconfig.c . Any help with that would be nice. I do have both WX and PCap libs, and I can build a wx version without networking, but i cant do both. here is log: In f...

Re-use, re-duce, re-cycle thread... :)

I am on GCC 4.7.2, so is there any way to tell which libraries I have which might be causing this? I'm on Windows 10, and have a habit of doing things like installing the June 2010 DirectX 9 SDK and user redist so I can play old games. :)

Re: questions about pcem

PCem is a simulator as well as an emulator; where an emulator just tries to emulate outward behaviour, a simulator tries to model exactly what happens in whatever you're simulating. Edit: Figured it out while following the guide. The first set is parent packages; the second set is sub-packages. You may want to clarify it, as it may be confusing to people new to mingw see what looks like the same thing twice. This was asked before, but I don't know if it was explained, and I'm c...

Seems this program is leaning me more and more towards a Ryzen Build. I am interested to see what the next chips from AMD bring. I believe today is the 10th anniversary of PCem! Just a handful of emulators made it this far! I'm glad PCem is in active development, almost daily. I downloaded the very first release and the executable is dated Aug 19, 2007, I'd take that as the first release. So, happy birthday! cake.jpg ...Perf...

Re: [Linux] GUI discussion

With SDL2 and wxwidgets is not so difficult. We could use SDL_GetWindowWMInfo to get native handle (HWND on Windows) from SDL window and wxNativeWindow to embed it in the wxwidgets application. My reading of their post was that they wanted it the other way around. And please quote my entire post. I...

I just build a 64-bit PCem-wx-SDL2 https://github.com/mborjesson/PCem-wx-SDL2 It seems impossible that a SDL display window and control window cannot be merged into one window. If you have access to the original hardware, try reproducing the issue with the exact same drivers as on PCem.

You could also try later and earlier S3 Virge drivers in PCem. :)

Re: Patches for linux

I think that the problems we currently encounter is caused by random use of lower/upper case letters for the rom names. Moreover the casing was different between the docs and actual code, so matching readme will not help. And I think, once it would be clear that all files and dirs need to use lower...

For me, the "./configure, make, make install" isn't a problem; it's the 2-4 other libraries it wants me to install first, and sometimes those libraries want other libraries...

And PCem runs just fine in Windows on VMWare.

Even with a HDD, a thousand items per second is not out of line. I don't think scanning the rom dir is going to be a problem. :) How to check: If you have a HDD, check the properties. Re: Linux

Probably not much use for it at this point - At that era of Linux development, its main use, IIRC, was for servers. And PCem 12 doesn't have internet. :)

A source build might; someone might chime in on that.

My guess would be that later graphics cards emulate DirectDraw using Direct3D.
