Gravis Ultrasound port
Hello! I've been testing different emulated sound cards. I want to ask if it's possible to add the support of the port 220 to the Gravis Ultasound, (it currently support 240 only) It's because the port 220 is used it the SET BLASTER= option in the autoexec.bat to provide compatibility with Sound Bla...

Adlib Gold Midi not working
Hello! Firs i must say it's great to have the Adlib Gold emulation for historic reasons and to hear Dune II with the Surround Module and also play music and some games in Win 3.x. I found a bug with the Adlib Gold emulation. (I know very few games support this card). In the released PCEM v12 the Adl...

CMS/Game Blaster card not detected
Hello!
I tested the CMS/Game Blaster Card demo disk, to play the CMS music and CMSDRV.Com does not detect the card.
I tested several SVN versions of 86box and PCEM. It works in DosBox.
I also tested several 286 and 386 machines, and with the CMS option enabled (obviously)

Re: More SCAT chipset machines
hello. First of all i want say i'm grateful to the effort you have done when yo added the support to theese SCAT chipsets. It's interesting to test this emulated hardware because nowadays te real SCAT/NEAT/LEAP chipset are very rare. And well, i'd like to ask about some emulated chipsets. I do not k...

Hello. I far as i know 287 and 387 SX/DX emulation was added in 86box, at the moment the Cyrix 486 DLC/SLC, variants and 8087 are not emulated. I tested the emulation with Windows 3.1 in MR 386 DX(it´s good because Windows don not need to emulated the FPU) and Award 286 with Windows 2.11/286 and Wor...

Re: 8086 emulation
Hello. I think the only way to be sure the game, it`s not corrupt or damaged is buying the original disk if itºs avaiable or download it with a torrent application, although it may be not legal and might contain virus, old DOS virus will not affect modern systems, and some of them may contain the ga...

Re: More SCAT chipset machines
¡Hello! Thanks for these new emulated SCAT machines, they're great additions. It would be interesting to have a 386-SX with SCAT EMS support to compare the performance and features offered by these chipsets vs. EMM386/QEMM/386MAX. If i recall correctly, the EMM emulation provided by these utilities ...

Re: Award286 clone
Thanks for the reply! I understand so emulating 2mb will not work accordingly the real hardware. may be in the future will be easier to emulate an 2mb EMS board for XT and 286 systems as a memory option. Sorry for asking again. I'm testing software of it's day to see how works. I found that HIDOS.SY...

Hercules blend patch
Hello everybody. I want to ask if it's possible to implement "The hercules blend patch" for the Hercules Graphics Card. The patch was developed by ripsaw8080 for dosbox back in 2010. This patch stretch the image removing the vertical lines and makes the image closer to the real monitor (i ...

Re: Award286 clone
Hello. Many thanks. It Works!! I tested Windows 3.0 in real mode (win /r), with QRAM and a mouse driver loaded high. I saw this with the manifest utility. So there was only a conflict between the Qram driver and the EMS driver. Sorry if I'm asking too much Is possible to add 1MB support of EMS RAM t...

Re: Award286 clone
Hello. Thanks for the reply. I don't know where put the EXCLUDE line after QRAM is installed. It is how the CONFIG.SYS looks like. Device=C:\qram\qext.sys (QRAM custom XMS driver) device=C:\qram\qram.sys R:1 device=C:\qram\loadhi.sys /R:1 EMM.SYS FRAME=E000 (I changed it because QRAM puts C000 by de...

Re: Award286 clone
Hello. I recently tested the EMS memory emulation. The only issue i found is when the a UMB driver is loaded, or when the EMS driver is loaded in UMB itself. The drivers install sucecifully in UMB memory (like the mouse) but the OEMSTEST.EXE from Douglas Boling. (he developed varios EMS 4.0 test in ...

Re: slowdowns in XT and IBM AT 286 emulation
Hello. Sorry for my english. I'm not an english speaker. The problems happen with the games installed in the hard disk too. For Prince of Persia I created a subfolder in C:\ and copied the files there. I found a web page witch has the original files. I could recreate the game in two 5.25 360kb or on...

Hello. I don't know if this post is closed. I recently discovered tath the Vtech Laser XT/3 has an 8086 Cpu not an 8088 like the Vtech Laser Turbo XT. If i recall correctly. the EMS memory chips can be installed in 256kb incrementens in the 8088 system (example 256/512/768/1024 kb) and 512 kb in the...

slowdowns in XT and IBM AT 286 emulation
Hello, everbody. I'm new in the forum. I'm not an English speaker. PCEM is my favourite emulator because it is focused to emulate accurately the old hardware of '80 and '90. I used to have a Turbo XT in early '90, whit no hard disk. a 360kb floppy, an Hercules monochrome graphics card and a Phospor ...
