King's Quest: Mask of Eternity loads and looks really good, but it runs dreadfully slow even with minimal graphics settings, 640x480 and shadows and dynamic lighting turned off. Amazingly, I'm getting 100% performance on Mobile Pentium MMX 300, but again very slow. Mask of Eternity system requireme...

Re: v12 released!
Given that the testing prior to each release seems to take a minimum of 1 month, releases every 3 months are not going to be practical. I'm aiming to get the next release out this year, but no guarantees beyond that. Can we expect a big surprise for the next release? Probably something you been wor...

err..exactly where is this option? cannot find it in "configure" I'm afraid that option is only available in the latest build revisions that you have to manually compile yourself. which i am unable to do. not even pcem-x has it? No, PCem mainstream. You need to compile it yourself or wain...

no, not my site, the benchmarks are from 2001 .. but it's hard today to benchmark real hardware since most of it is retired & was thrown in the trash .. checkit is a very accurate benchmark too .. and landmark was the defacto standard at that time .. According to the TOPBENCH's developer, he wr...

Is that site yours? Nice, but I don't see the TOPBENCH results, I think it is the most reliable of them allTheMechanist wrote:http://mastodonpc.tripod.com/bench/speed.html
What other utility is useful for benchmarking 2D video cards? "Final Reality" has a 2D tab and measures speed and bandwith, any good?

While I couldn't reproduce your problem (I tried Doom and Jagged Alliance (both DOS4GW)) and they ran OK, I noticed MS-DOS 6.22's edit/qbasic hangs. Does that happen to you too? Are you using the same hardware configuration as above, video card, sound card, etc? Same hardware, but I didn't load emm...

I like that idea of each card having a default setting.
I have a couple of the cards currently emulated. I can help with the benchmarking.

Re: Recommended settings for bog-standard i286
Something I've always wondered about: why is the video speed user-selectable? Won't there always be a single most sensible value for that setting for any given board choice and machine configuration? As such, wouldn't it make more sense for PCem to simply work out which video speed setting is appro...

are you still getting the "expected Voodoo, none detected" error when Windows starts? I had the same problem, but I solved it easly like I told before. Uninstalled the previous driver, extracted the new V2 driver in a temp folder, then go to My PC, Properties, devices, I locate the Voodoo2...
