there is, another one, called Phoenix S3 Trio64.
It's not listed in the readme.

The only S3 Trio adapter you have listed as compatible (Number Nine 9FX) doesn't do 1024x768x32, either.

Re: Trident graphics (from downlods); display messed up

Thanks, everyone. :)

Between your help and remembering a bit more, I think I've got this figured out.

Re: Trident graphics (from downlods); display messed up

You should use a more modern video card to pair with a voodoo, like one of those PCI S3 Trio cards or ViRGEs. (Trio is a bit more compatible since some games will default to Virge's bad 3D first, missing out on 3dfx initialization) FYI: S3 Trio is purely 2D (like everything else on the list), S3 Vi...

Re: Trident graphics (from downlods); display messed up

I'm currently running 3DFX with a Paradise Bahamas. So basically, I should make sure I have a 2D VGA card installed, and a 3DFX Voodoo? Is the Paradise Bahamas 2D, or 3D? Not sure how pressing the need is, but maybe a quick setup guide might help people? Particularly people who don't particularly re...

PCEM-X link?

I did a search on the term, but DuckDuckGo doesn't know it (and I'm hesitant to search emulators on a site which, frankly, tracks your every search term and click).

Re: 3DFX emulation

Ok, I've written shaders before, but I dunno how hard this would be - I understand the 3DFX is software-emulated? How hard would it be to emulate it in shaders? There's some effort to write a filter shader, it looks like. Edit: Er, I'm not offering; sorry if any mis-understanding. I'm up to my eyeba...

Re: Trident graphics (from downlods); display messed up

Ok, I think I got this. Install Win98SE with a video card for SVGA, and select 3dfx Voodoo in the config. That'll make it available to games which use it? And it's rather sad that GoG's version of Interstate '76 doesn't work with Windows 98. I suppose there's economic sense in just maintaining the v...

Re: PCem screw up moments thread(fun thread)

Pretty much every time I try to use it. Man, am I rusty - I don't have nearly this much trouble with WinUAE.

Edit: Seriously, how do you use 3Dfx?

Trident graphics (from downlods); display messed up

Decided to try 10.1. Looks much better; got Win98SE installed in it. Except...I tried the 3D Maze screensaver (seriously, why is this not in later versions of Windows?) and the colours can pretty much be described as "ugly". Literally not what I remember, and I've run Win98SE in Virtualbox...

Re: Setting up PCem for the first time - CD drive?

CD-ROM is configured through the Settings->CD-ROM submenu. If you want to boot off CD then you'll also need to emulate a machine that supports that - I think only the 'Award 430VX PCI' does that. You'll also want a video card better than a Hercules. Drive G: (the daemon tools drive) is selected in ...

Setting up PCem for the first time - CD drive?

Ok, so I want to install Windows 98 in PCem. Problem is, starting up, it doesn't recognize the CD drive (which could be because its daemon tools?) and wants a disk in A: (presumably asking for a floppy). I'm a complete newbie at PCem (although not to emulation in general). What do I set so it'll det...
