Joystick Emulation

Post by rflego »

Hi for all :)

I would like, first, congratulate you for the excellent work, I was surprised with the PCEm and its development, never seen a virtual machine so perfect.

I would like to understand how the joystick emulation, is from the emulated sound card or directly on the emulated machine? and with how to use it? I've been testing some games based on ms-dos, I have a control xbox360 in my real machine, tested on several machines 386, 486 and Pentium.

I'm using the latest version I even compiled.

Sorry my english.

The joystick emulation is associated with the emulated machine, rather than the sound card.

If Windows has recognised your controller, then the joystick emulation should Just Work. Is the controller is showing up in Control Panel okay? (on your host machine, not the emulated machine)

I had tested only in X-Wing, but I tested in Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Dark Forces and Descent 2, worked perfectly, unfortunately, the X-Wing is not detecting the joystick.

I also tested the Tie Fighter and did not work in any version (CD-ROM and Floppy).
