Video Modes status in Tandy / Integrated Chipsets?

Post by diduz »

Hello, I've always found the realtime "status" report on video modes extremely fascinating. I like to observe particular Mode-X modes Using VGA or SVGA emulation, it works like a charm. ;)
I'd also like to read video modes when emulating Tandy/integrated CGA, but I've noticed that PcEm does not show video modes status when in Tandy or integrated CGA emulation. Do you think the feature could be extended to the emulation of those chipsets? For example, I'd really like to know when a Tandy game runs in 160x200 or 320x200, and screenshots cannot help me there. Also, I'm not a programmer, just a plain nerdy guy, so I cannot decipher a debug mode (I don't know if there's a way to activate such a thing in PcEm).
Thanks for this layered and precise emulator. :D
Best,
Dom
