Spear of Destiny DOS Hang

Both Spear of Destiny (CD Version) and Spear of Destiny - Super CD Pack installations cause DOS to be unresponsive. No graphical errors other than the system doesn't respond after hitting enter for a hard reset. PCEM does not crash. I have tried both windows 95 DOS mode and Windows 98 SE DOS mode. The installations and game work fine in DOSBox.

PCEM Configuraiton is as follows for both Windows 95 and Windows 98

AWARD 430VX PCI
Pentium 75
Dynamic Recompiler
128MB RAM
S3 Virge DX / FAST BLB/PCI w/ Voodoo Graphics
Sound Blaster Awe32
IDE HDD

Seems to work fine from my end with those settings? id anthology release though (also not cracked fyi)

There is a sound bug when picking up the gatling gun though

It is an issue with these particular CDs, not the ID antholog release. I believe the ID anthology release is a different version. That version works for me as well.

I have a similar issue with a "1000 hot games" compilation disc totally locking up when i try and run the executable for the launcher in Windows 98 SE.

Then again it's a fickle thing where some games didn't even run right an actual Windows XP desktop with I picked up from the Facebook Marketplace and got working for fun.

If it's the softkey/smartsaver one from 1999, that seems to work fine for me? Can use the VB-based launcher in Win98 to install and run games without hangs on K6/2 in the current tree and PMMX233 on the V14 release. Maybe your CD is scratchy all along!!!

No. it's some weird one with an 8-ball on the disc art. "1000 Best Games for Windows" from the Cosmi Corporation.
