I have an Epson ActionPC 2600 (486 with UMC 8881F chipset). I extracted the BIOS EPROM and dumped its content with a Mini Pro. I downloaded PCem 8 (wich I believe is the latest version that supports the 8881F) and put the recently dumped BIOS. Much to my surprise the real computer displays and EPSON logo when booting and on its BIOS setup, but when I ran PCem I see a TriGem logo in both screen. Can someone shed some light on what is going on here?
Isn't the logo pictures stored in the BIOS?
I know the 8881F is no longer supported but this is still interesting nonetheless
PS: I deleted the NVR file just some old information could cause this, but still I get the TriGem instead of the EPSON logo
As expected the BIOS string at the bottom of the boot screen is the same

Re: 8881F weirdness
Probably a DIP switch or jumper or something on the main board determining which OEM the board is today.
Re: 8881F weirdness
Good idea. I will check that. Thanks
Re: 8881F weirdness
I've never seen the American Megatrends logos swapped on the WinBIOS. neat
