Trying to add a hard drive to IBM PC XT

Hello,

I would like to add a hard drive to an IBM PC XT.

I have configured PCem the following way:

Configure PCem.png (22.13 KiB) Viewed 3333 times

What is weird is that for HDD only None can be selected.

Under DOS, I get "Invalid drive specification":

Any idea what I do wrong?

You're missing roms for the hard drive controller. For XT, it's MFM Fixed Disk Adapter (Xebec), though you could also use XTIDE (it's not faithful, but is the easiest to work with and easiest to obtain).

XTIDE BIOS is not copyrighted, right? I could post a link if it is ok..

I had no idea another rom was needed. Trying to be faithful, I have added the Xebec rom in the roms folder but still:

Does the drive show up in FDISK?
