I have PCem with Windows 98 and Voodoo2 Graphics. Games work fine but when I leave and return to Windows I often have strange bugs in Windows GUI
Any idea about this?
When configuring PCem before launching the emulated machine
thanks. that solved the problem. but strange that not all people have this problemJonyP27 wrote: ↑Wed 25 Nov, 2020 11:15 pmI also was experiencing this bug before but found a workaround in that instead of using 24bit true color mode I switched to 16bit high color mode in the display settings. After that the problem was resolved.
I think it's a bug when using 24/32bit true color depth mode while using the S3 Virge and also the ATI Mach 64 GX, as I checked it too.
Historical information:menobug wrote: ↑Tue 24 Nov, 2020 9:03 pmSo when I have the S3 Virge/DX selected this is my 3D card? or my 2D card? Where to select 2D cards? When I play games they sometimes ask me which graphics adapter they should use and i can switch between S3 Virge/DX and Voodoo2. Is this 2D and 3D adapters then?
Sorry, i used Gigabyte with PII and Intel with PPro... I just wanted to say that I used different CPU / GPU combinations with the same result in graphic bugs
I tried motocross madness with voodoo 3 3000 gpu withoutmenobug wrote: ↑Wed 02 Dec, 2020 1:51 pmOk... now the desktop problems are solved. But I have another bug. I cannot say if its due to update to PCem v17 or not? (I think i also have the same bug in 86Box.) I also tried different systems:
- Shuttle HOT-557, Pentium 166, S3 Virge/DX Voodoo2, Windows98 SE
- GA-686GX, Pentium PRO, Voodoo 3-3000, Windows98 SE
But I have now strange bugs in Games and Menus I did not have before. Anyone has seen this before?

NFS2SE and Motocross Madness were made around DirectX5 and 6. DX8 wasn't until late 2000, and DX8 doesn't require DX8 drivers to be used (otherwise I wouldn't have been able to start 3DMark2001 on those cards)
