Cyrix Cx5x86 VM's corrupting drive images?

Post by mijk »

I've tried a combination of VM's with Cx5x86 CPU's and they all seem corrupt the drive image when running Windows 95/98. Anyone else run into this? I did a search and couldn't find anything so I'm sorry if this has been brought up before. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U.

1) Have you had this problem with other CPUs?
2) Are you using a HDD, and is it making worrying noises? (which I'm thinking of, because mine needed replacement relatively recently because of said noises)

I have an NVMe drive so the only noise is from my CPU fan. All other CPU's I've tried do not result in corrupt hard drive images. Now that i think of it, the issue happened on my other computer, a Haswell i5.
