86box, PCem-X, PCem-experimental and PCem-unofficial

There have been a lot of people asking questions about 86box, PCem-X, PCem-experimental, or PCem-unofficial.

These are NOT supported here! These are all unofficial experimental branches created by Battler, that I have had nothing to do with.

This forum is for mainline PCem only (ie the releases at pcem-emulator.co.uk).

I'm actually considering making the repository private and password-protecting the Jenkins (and removing old binaries from my server), and give details only to people I can trust they won't ask for support with it here. Because it's evident that regardless of how clear I make things, people will insist on asking here.

This is why I can't wait for the code differences between PCem-Unofficial and mainline PCem to get reduced to the point when PCem-Unoffiical will no longer have a reason to exist.

That would be a pity Battler. I'd ban anyone who asks for PCem-u here, plain and simple.

I wonder why people do, anyway, even after the project has been renamed to PCem-Unofficial, which couldn't make it clearer that's, well, not official.

But well, in any case, PCem-Unofficial support is on either http://forum.softhistory.org or #pcem-x @ irc.ringoflightning.net / irc.rol.im . KiwiIRC link here.

Edit: Channel moved to #softhistory , same IRC network: #softhistory @ irc.ringoflightning.net / irc.rol.im . KiwiIRC link here.

Pre-compiled binaries are at our Jenkins located at http://polar.rol.im (it's no longer on port 8080).

Battler,I will hope PCem-X, PCem-experimental and PCem-unofficial will have Phoenix BIOS and faster processor (Pentium 3,4 or AMD).

How can there be Pentium 3 or higher when there's not even proper Pentium 2 emulation yet. The Intel i686 emulation in PCem-Unofficial is not really suitable for usage.

86Box is so slow on my AMD Ryzen 3700X compare to PCem. Even Pentium 166 is so slow in 86Box.

Why is 86Box so slow? It's way slower then PCem. PCem work much better on my AMD Ryzen 5600X.

Don't care. This is the PCem forum, not for any other emulator.
