CMOS memory size mismatch

Postby TheMechanist » Mon 31 Jul, 2017 9:43 am

... I've set up an Ami286 clone with 1 MB RAM .. I have no idea what to set in BIOS to get rid of this error when booting, I tried some settings without success .. BIOS tells, there are only 512kb base ram ...

Please set extended memory size to 0 if 1024KB memory used to avoid CMOS memory size error.
AMI286 in PCem uses Chips & Technologies NEAT chipset, but its emulation is still poor. NEAT chipset supports selecting upper 384KB memory area as shadow memory and extended memory via chipset-specific register when 1024KB memory is installed but it is not implemented yet.
If you want to use extended memory, please set memory size to at least 1152KB and set extended memory size to total memory size - 1024KB now.

okay, good to know .. I tried to set extended ram to 0 and base ram to 512 / 640 kB, but bios complains .. the only working setup - didnt test more than 1 MB - is setting ram to 512k in both pcem config & bios base memory so far, of course only suitable if 512k are enough for you ..
