Mouse on Maniac Mansion Deluxe

Here's a strange one.
I can´t get a serial mouse to work on the Deluxe version of Maniac Mansion under MS-DOS using a 286/386. The first version (the one that looks more like the C64) works fine.
I tested using the mouse driver that comes with MS-DOS 6.22 and cute mouse
Can someone else reproduce this?
I will keep testing...
PS: Be sure to have the mouse enabled in the "PREFS" file
