support for Sigma Designs RealMagic

Post by gladstone »

Hello

Is it possible to add support for mpeg hardware accelerated cards, like the Sigma Design realmagic Em7110.

Any guidelines to achieve something like that?

Thanks.

Would that be useful for playing games like Mad Dog McCree?

I did look into the RealMagic at one point. It's a little complicated, to say the least! I don't have any immediate plans for it I'm afraid.

I guess that with a 300 mhz or better Pentium II that card won't be neccesary

A lot less than that! The RealMagic is an MPEG1 card, you can do software MPEG decoding on a low end Pentium.

Bump for technical inspiration as there's recently been a DOSbox fork about it (intended for upstream)
