BIOS / Chipset compatibility

Post by omarsis81 »

I opned the model.c file and saw that both the WinBIOS and AMI486 clone use the same chipset, of course, both BIOS files are different.
Now, the question is:
If I dump a BIOS from a 430VX chipset motherboard, should it work as a replacement alternative for the "Award 430VX PCI" motheboard?

I dumped the BIOS from a HP Brio computer that has the 430VX chipset but it uses a Phoenix BIOS. It doesn't work. Is this to be expected?

EDIT: 55XWUQ0E.BIN and the BIOS I dumped are both 128kb in size

It also has to match the super I/O chip of the board.
