I am still working my way through configuring my system. I set my machine similar to this one: http://pcem-emulator.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=2944, but can't get any sound. I do not have the speaker icon in my taskbar. I checked system manager in Windows 98 and there are no question marks indicating a problem. I tried deleting the sound device and rebooting, hoping to force Windows to reinstall but Windows has not reinstalled. The host machine volume is up all the way and does not seem to have any problems. Does anyone have an idea?
change and install sb16 it always work
Thanks for the reply. By "install sb16" you mean download the drivers and install through the windows installer, correct?
no, i mean select sound blaster 16 as a audio hardware in PCem and let win98/95 find drivers automatically. if windows will not prompt or search for drivers automatically after you add this sound card, then you can do search for new hardware manually, from control panel. both win 95 nad 98 have these drivers, no need to download.
Sounds like this might be a bug that needs a bug report.
I did select soundblaster in the configuration and reinstalling the device, no help. This is a new install so nothing would be lost if I started from scratch. I'll keep playing with it and post results.
Okay, I deleted the machine and recreated it. The the sound is back, but stuttering. I think when a device is removed in the client, PCem does not reinstall. I'll try changing drivers and other roms to see if it fixes the stuttering.
abk4523 , with sluttering make sure the emulated mashine speed is 100% or so, if you will have 95% or so, and lower then sound will slutter.
Thanks for the advice. I have a rom that uses 100% and the sound works perfectly.
