Metropolis (1987) on a win 98 machine garbled image won't run

on win 98 machine i am trying a dos game from 1987 called metropolis, problem is, it comes in 2 floppies,and once the game from the second floppy starts, it becomes like this https://imgur.com/a/72GCdUV
and yes i tried also in pure dos mode
there is another version floating around the net, with just an executable, but just won't start (it will start in dosbox though)

Create a new folder (on the desktop for example) and copy the contents of both floppies to that folder. Run the game from there.

Did you do some footwork to see if it's real behavior?

It's not many but there actually is a couple odd DOS games that pitch a fit on Windows 9x operating systems.

Foudn the culprit..it requires a ega/cga video card ot won't even boot.

Changed it and it runs...but i thought there was a way to change/switch it on the fly from a dos command?
