Unable to install QuickTime 6.5.2 in Windows 98

I tried with a freshly installed clean system, with or without drivers and with different types of video and sound cards but at the end of the installation I always get the same error:

QUICKTIME652 caused an invalid page fault in module VISE32EX.DLL at 0167:1001e46b.

I also tried in safe mode but nothing changes, has anyone ever had a similar problem?
