Re: No Keyboard shortuts?
Not really, I think most people just want to play the game they like. When installing games from multiple floppy images to a hard drive image, it's usually an one time thing (per game). So that's commonly done in windowed mode and immersion is not that important. But ease of use is. So it's a lot o...

No Keyboard shortuts?
Were keyboard shortcuts never implemented in any version? I'm talking about things like insert/eject floppy image, CD etc. When emulating, the goal is to have as close an experience to the original as possible, and these type of shortcuts help to ease the gap a little for those type of operations, a...

OpenGL Shaders installation
Hello, I am going crazy trying to use shaders with PCem. As per previous posts I found, I select OpenGL 3.0 for video, and then I go to the shaders manager, but no matter which shader I try, regardless of if it's the .glslp or .glsl file, and whehter I get an html content or the "real" con...

Re: How to connect a folder in PCem to my own Computer?
PCem has two network emulation drivers: A SLiRP driver and a PCAP driver. They are selectable from the configure host button on the PCem Configuration Manager. How the heck did I never see this button???? :o The SLiRP driver, which is the default, works like this: To the outside, it is just an appl...

Feel free. Ok, so it's just a few small items: README FILE ---------------- Amstrad PC1512 [5] - Readme states one of the ROM files as pc1512/40044.v2 when it is in fact pc1512/40044.v1 IBM AT - Readme states ROM files are: ibmat/at111585.0 ibmat/at111585.1 should state: ibmat/62x0820.u27 ibmat/62x...

Re: How to connect a folder in PCem to my own Computer?
On the Pcem side, the router IP is your host. ( verify it, but it should be 10.0.2.2) I've been using a little http server application to copy files on both directions (server on host, IE on pcem). The http server is hfs. https://www.rejetto.com/hfs Hi there, I tried this and works great, to me it'...

Re: Voodoo 2 Total Memory Size?
The option's there for curiosity (a 2mb framebuffer Voodoo2 would've been for arcade machines) A Voodoo2 always have two TMUs, and that chosen texture memory will be multiplied by 2 always on the Voodoo2 option. Same goes for the Obsidian SB50 above it. Consumer V2s always had a 4MB framebuffer, an...

Voodoo 2 Total Memory Size?
Hi all, I'm confused with the memory settings for the Voodoo 2 card emulation, specifically on how to emulate a 12MB card. I know it's there as it's even in the readme stating: 3DFX Voodoo 2: PCem can emulate both 8 and 12 MB configurations. But I'm surely missing how to configure it... I found an o...

Re: v17 released!
Hi Sarah,
Readme files are important, right...? It's what users are sent to read before asking...
Would it be of interest to report some typos/errors on the main readme file, or nobody cares? What about the GUI itself?
Cheers!

Re: Confused about creating hard drive images and sizes
Mmm... So.. indeed, that BIOS (SIS 496/497) seems to have limitations with some configurations. 63/16/4096 fails but 63/16/4095 works. (it shows 2113 instead of 2015 because it shows it in million bytes, not in megabytes. This is quite the norm with disks) As I said, use autodetection but select ma...

Re: Confused about creating hard drive images and sizes
If you want a 2GB disc, simply try 63 sectors, 16 heads, 4096 cylinders. Autodetect might still fail, but you can setup these parameters manually in the BIOS. My Pentium II had a 40GB of disk Maybe it was 10GB or was it 6GB?... Can't remember any longer. We built a rather good one ( slot 1, 350Mhz ...

Re: Confused about creating hard drive images and sizes
PCem pretends to emulate what real hardware was supposed to do, and the use of real BIOSes of those machines also imposes some of these limitations. But first: The list of predefined HDDs is not something that PCem invented, but the default table of compatible disks on the initial PC BIOS. Those di...

Re: Confused about creating hard drive images and sizes
The largest heads and sectors-per-track supported by PCem is 16 and 63 respectively, so for large hard disks, you have to use the cylinders to get the final size. This is an issue I've run into with VHD support, as it only supports up to 65535 cylinders, so for large hard disks, you are supposed to...

Confused about creating hard drive images and sizes
Hi folks, PCem noob here, I more or less got the hand of the general workings and how to put together a machine. The only thing I am confused about (for now), is regarding the creation of HDD images. I have found several tutorials and general info sites, with tables with the CHS parameters for diffe...
