Re: How does Internet Archive.org get so many hard to find computer stuff and survive?

You're spamming this forum at this point. How is it spamming when it's related to emulation of Windows retro? Fine I am done with forums for good. Forums are !@#!2 holes always wanting the 'narrative' and never want actual discussion. Just a bunch of political correct YES groups! I hate group think...

What's your thoughts on Windows 2000 vs Windows ME vs XP Service Pack 3 on both real and emulation for older software?

We all know about Windows 98 on both real and virtual machines but rarely is this ever mentioned.
What do you think of Windows 2000 vs XP both 32 and 64 bit on real and emulation?

What are pros and cons you've notice or heard about?

You have to have a business to post there. They want a bunch of details for a business in order to register and you have to pay money. So? This is still not a vmware forum. Find another site to post non-PCem threads. Where do you suggest? I never have seen any actual places and posts are all from 2...

How does Internet Archive.org get so many hard to find computer stuff and survive?

Believe it or not a lot of it works (sometimes with glitches) on PCEM making it even more valuable. It's a great valuable resource for getting rare or older software/manuals/documentation,etc that you'd sadly be supporting scalpers otherwise (I cannot morally support buying off of random scalpers bu...

Re: Outside of VMworkstation (which has disorted sound) we don't have a fully working XP emulation yet.

Run Windows Media Player minimized on your XP VMWare VM to get rid of that annoying sound stuttering and video stuttering. On a modern PC, to use XP in VMWare with sound stuttering and even video stuttering being a near constant occurrence is an annoying thing to see after years of powerful, reliab...

leilei was clearly referring to win XP on PCem (the mention of voodoo 3). This isn't a vmware forum. Threads like this do not belong here. If you have issues with XP on PCem, post those. I don't think you know what Archive.org is. Since your unwilling to be educated I won't bother to post anymore but it's not what you think and Archive.org won many lawsuits in past years from vendors thru special loopholes. Pretty clever of them too SO THERE! Mr smarty pants. I almost donated to the...

Re: Ryzen 7 5800X3D on sale. How likely does it do for PCEM?

Host system GPU has no impact on emulated CPU performance. As for 5800X3D: it's not the CPU to go with if PCem matters to you, unless you are okay with Pentium MMX or maybe entry level Pentium II processors. 12600K would be a much better choice due to offering a much better performance for a lot le...

What's not "fully working"? I haven't had issues with Voodoo3 and SBPCI on XP. It's a little sluggish but that's how XP was on the 6th gen PCs, and there's always been a slow detection hump to get over after setup that always seems to be forgotten about, especially as many first impressio...

How's PCEM V18 going now that we are onto September? Maybe it will be released on the 21st night of September? Working on it, Changing an entire GUI framework does take time , it's a major overhaul. And PCem isn't my day job so I don't get 24/7 to code on it. :) Just glad to know that. :) Little ti...

Sim City 3000 Unlimited (Not Original) not a valid Win32 error on PCEM?

On Windows 98 SE Retail ISO I can install Sim City 3000 okay and it plays smoothly but the Unlimited version throws up a 'Not a Valid Win 32 Application' message on both the original ISO and the GOG ISO I downloaded which needs at least 2000 to install. Any work arounds? The PC Gaming Wiki says Wind...

Is the demand just not there? You'd think 20 years later someone would've figured something out: It seems like Xenia in terms of emulation. I feel like we will be able to have full Forza Horizon races without missing textures or random crashes before we have a decent XP and I DON'T take that lightly...

Re: Need For Speed 3 not working on PCEMV17 any solutions?

If you don't play 2003 and newer games on PCem (which would mostly run poorly, if at all), you don't need to install DX9. Are you using an EU release? NFS3's european releases have securom protection, so they don't work. You need the US release, or the exe file from that release, or a crack. Most g...

What I wrote in bold I think is a bit worrying for you AMD users. Is that going to help or tank PCEM performance compared to higher end I7's like what I have? I've managed to remove safedisc with it, for example from the original release of rainbow six. Unsafedisc supports up to safedisc v1.50. The original sims releases have 1.40 or 1.41, depending on the region, so it should work for them. The house party expansion switched to v2, and later collection ...

About any of them that added Vulkan support have some level of multi-threading when using that API because AMD designed it to be well optimized for multi-core CPUs. I ran out of breath reading that..... There are more appropriate base band glide wrappers if you want that level of performance. VSA100 really brought nothing to the table for glide.
