PCem speed drops, no problems before
I am running Windows 98 on my AMD Ryzen 5 6-core. I didn't have any problem with speed while running the operating system through elementaryOS, with the following settings: Machine: [Socket 7] Shuttle HOT-557 CPU: Intel Pentium 120 Memory: 32MB Display Device: S3 Virge/DX, Fast 16-bit Device: Sound ...

Re: Unable to compile PCem v16 for Linux
What caused the error in the first place was me individually installing gcc first in the Ubuntu repository instead of build-essential first.

I had LMD installed on my Mac machine and compiled v15 there, and I had no problems

Unable to compile PCem v16 for Linux
I am attempting to compile PCem v16 on my new system (AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 1650) running Ubuntu 20.04. I always followed the instructions in the Readme-LINUX.txt file, and I seemed to compile previous PCems without any problems, but that was done on a different system, but PCem...

Re: Unexplained Slowdown?
For some reason, I have the same problem in PCem. Managed to fix that by quitting and re-starting the emulator.

Many thanks for v15.
Given that there is a pattern now, will we expect v16 to be released on June 18, 2020? ... lol

Re: How to connect a folder in PCem to my own Computer?
I'd use WinImage to create a new disk image then transfer the driver file onto the image. Then when you boot up your OS within PCem, you will be able to drag the driver file onto the desktop or just load up the driver from whatever drive the disk is in. (eg: if you created a 1.4M image with the driv...

Yeah, that is what I do with my fake Windows 95 machine. In future versions of Windows (from Windows 2000 onward), the PC shuts down automatically.

That makes sense. I didn't experience this error before, especially when I used the same BIOS back in the day.
Many thanks!

Error: No ROM Basic System Halted
I am trying to install MS-DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1 on my 250MB HD. AMI WinBIOS boots up fine and I was able to start the installation program for DOS. Within the program, I chose to configure all the unallocated space on my HD and then it asks me to restart the system so that installation can continu...

Re: unable to compile PCem under Linux
Good news. The main problem was with PinguyOS 18.04. It would not let me compile PCem in a Terminal without complaining about broken dependencies, and when I tried to install those ones, it gave me more dependencies to worry about, and then it went on and on until I just gave up. Even when I tried w...

Re: unable to compile PCem under Linux
For me I normally run these commands and it is normally enough to get most stuff compiling : sudo apt-get install git build-essential libsdl2-dev libsdl2-ttf-dev libfontconfig-dev qt5-default cmake libgtk-3-dev mercurial sudo apt-get install subversion g++ libqt5-dev libqtwebkit-dev libphonon-dev l...

Re: unable to compile PCem under Linux
It seems to get rid of the "C compiler cannot create executables" message, I needed to install g++. Now my output looks like this: checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c...

unable to compile PCem under Linux
I am a new Linux user that switched over from macOS, and I am trying to compile under Pinguy 18.04 (which is based on Ubuntu 18.04). I made sure that I had sdl2, wxWidgets, and OpenAL installed first. But when I enter "./configure --enable-release", it returns with this error: 'C compiler cannot cre...

Re: [BUG] Crusader: No Remorse - teleporter does not work
Strange, I just completed Mission 13 again and the teleported worked this time. I don't know why it didn't work the first time. Maybe the game punished me for taking too long ... lol

Re: [BUG] Crusader: No Remorse - teleporter does not work
Yes, I am using 1.21 and I still can't use the teleporter. I might restart the mission to see if that helps (using the -warp cheat).

Re: [BUG] Crusader: No Remorse - teleporter does not work
It is a quicksave file where I saved before the point before I have to walk to the teleporter. The save games are labeled "savegame.x(y)", and there are 9 of them, so I can't figure out which one is the quick save. https://mega.nz/#!fhBkGCCC!QIVpjmgeYmQiCWd9z2I_VWNLcnmreEvGnKPTI5oAcgs Unzip the cont...

[BUG] Crusader: No Remorse - teleporter does not work
In Mission 13, you are supposed to free Sgt. Brooks from WEC prison, and then follow her through the teleporter next to her cell so that you return to base. But when you play this game through PCem, nothing ever happens even though it is activated. I don't think this is the result of a configuration...

No LBA. If by absolute path you mean the exact location of my HD image, then yes. Maybe posting my config would help.

"Disk I/O Error" when switching machines
I didn't have this problem before, but I have one particular 1GB hard drive I told about containing Windows 95. It works perfectly, but if I switch to a different machine, its CMOS settings detect the HDD if I set the type to "[IDE] Standard IDE", yet I get slapped with a "Disk I/O error", which see...

I will add that no matter which chipset/video card you use, the mouse cursor in Crusader: No Remorse goes as far as the middle of the screen and does not move further down.

managed to compile and run PCem - some issues
I decided to post a new thread about this as I believe the "Mac OS X" thread is there for discussing problems with compiling. So I was able to compile and run PCem v14 on macOS 10.12, but when I run ./pcem, I get the messages "Menu item not found: 1403" and "Menu item not found: 1404" and it cycles ...
Re: MacOS X
So I tried to compile PCem on macOS 10.12. It seems to compile successfully, but I noticed that 4 warnings were generated in fdi2raw.c, followed by another 2 warnings in pc.c, then this: make[1]: .././install-sh: Permission denied make[1]: *** [dosbox/.dirstamp] Error 1 make: *** [all-recursive] Err...
Re: MacOS X
I hope that someone will post a build guide for MacOS. I did manage to install brew, but I got lost from there on.
