Re: [DISCUSSION] MS-DOS memory optimisation tricks

well, I think I had tested 2mb once on the tvga8900d on pcem, and they showed no problems, although probably the drivers I had can only address up to 1mb and that's why they work fine, probably those that expect 2mb display memory can have bugs.

Re: [DISCUSSION] MS-DOS memory optimisation tricks

Well, 2mb drivers for the TVGA8900D are usually buggy in Windows and others, so that's why it's not supported on PCem at the moment and, as for the et4000ax, yes, it would be configurable in the future :)

recompile with the -g definition in cflags, it will allow you to see the symbols of each .o file inside gdb.

Re: 80188/80186, IBM PC/XT 286 discussion

well, the Tandy 2000 is not fully emulated at the moment in MAME, it has an CGA-incompatible video card, completely different serial port, Tandy 2000 floppies are 5.25'' 720KB (not used by any PC compatible), and the 80186 is known to have been used in PC incompatibles more than PC compatibles due t...

Re: 80188/80186, IBM PC/XT 286 discussion

the Tandy 2000 is not PC compatible and it has an architecture (besides the 186) that is completely different from the Tandy 1000 and IBM PC and clones.
Well, the PC/XT 286 is an AT-class one.

hmm, I see Previous lacks some commands for the SCSI CD-ROM, like Read TOC (0x43).

Discussion about SCSI

Well, I know it will not be featured in time for the v10 release, but I think a discussion about it as an optional patch should be allowed :).
At the current time, I'm still working on SCSI CD-ROM emulation for NT 3.1 with the Adaptec 1540 (plain 1540, not 1540A, B, C or CF, so no S/G).

Re: v10 rough timetable

And where can I find the Net Interface parameter? Does the IP address on the host and PCem have to match completely? netinterface is in the pcem.cfg settings. Also you can use Wireshark to view how many host networks you have. To go to the internet through PCem you basically have to connect your Lo...

Re: v10 rough timetable

That's SA1988's patch. The file names are identical. That's what I've been thinking. I tried running the Arachne web browser on the WinBIOS 486 clone and I couldn't go online at all. :( It would be better to have SLiRP networking support (code that is ported from Qemu). I'm gonna try to ask Neozeed...

Donald Duck Goin' Quackers (NTSC/PAL) -> with 3dfx, just black screens (not driver-related, since I've tried every 3dfx Voodoo1 driver for Windows 9x) once it proceeds examining the resolutions, so, not working at all.

Alternative to atapi drivers for NT 3.1.

Since NT 3.1 doesn't have any built-in atapi support, I (actually we, Battler too) would like to have other storage driver (in terms of modifying the source code of the emulator) support for cdrom for NT 3.1 (you can get NT 3.1's iso on google, just search, either floppy or CD versions) for PCem, si...

Well that game works perfectly under WinXP on VMware, but I thought of testing it on a Windows 95/98/ME guest on PCem would be quite retro :p It originally came out in 2000 (between the releases of Windows 2000 and Windows ME to be precise) but also designed to work on Windows 95 and Windows 98 (inc...

Have you guys tried Donald Duck Goin' Quackers for Windows 9x? It requires a Voodoo1 as a minimum 3D card but here it just stays black after initializing the resolutions (on PCem that is).

both drivers, and actually, the glitch doesn't always appear, it mainly appears when moving the open program or window to the borders of the screen. (And for some info, this glitch is totally absent in the trio64).

CDAudio not playing correctly on win95 (original release)

Every time I start some cdaudio testing on win95 (original release from 1995), it just skips all the tracks (any audio cd, but mixed mode ones work fine) and doesn't play audio from the cdplayer (or any other cdplayer). This problem doesn't happen at all on OSR2 or later or on NT or on Win3.x. Testi...
