Ever considered emulating an LPT NIC, like the Xircom PE3 devices?

Unable to get a NIC to work in a Tandy VM due to IRQ unavailability (it seems), thought that that might be a decent workaround, since it doesn't consume any additional resources.

I can't find much technical documentation on the Xircom devices though, much less any existing emulation examples, so that might be a fair amount of work to reverse engineer.

I'd be interested in this because I have the real thing somewhere (unless it's another model), but actually implementing it would be very low on my list of priorities, and unfortunately nobody else seems to be interested :(

serial or parallel null modem cables would also work and I bet it is easier to emulate

Serial definitely, it's simpler and it's been done many times before. I saw your thread about that and might even try implementing it myself sometime.
