[BUG] Diskette not present messages on certain UNIXes

Post by win2kgamer »

In PCem-dev commit 6bd1c70, SunSoft Interactive UNIX 4.1 displays frequent "diskette not present" messages while copying files from floppy:

When this message appears, copying stalls for a few seconds and then the OS seems to continue like nothing happened (other than the "FD(0): diskette not present - please insert" message staying on the console). These errors do not appear when installing SunSoft Interactive UNIX in VirtualBox 5.1.

This same message also shows up in Dell Unix Release 4 Issue 2.2 on occasion:

I'm not sure but this could also be related to the frequent "The A: device is not ready" messages when installing OS/2 2.0 Limited Availability (rev 6.617)

Machine configuration:
Machine: [486] AMI 486 clone
CPU: Intel 486DX2/66
Memory: 8MB
Video: Tseng ET4000AX
HDD: 251MB IDE
FDD: 3.5" 1.44M
Mouse: Microsoft 2-button serial

EDIT: I have been able to verify the issue also occurs on PCem v14
