[BUG] A couple of issues with Manx TT Superbike in Glide
In PCem v16 there are some minor issues with the Glide version of Manx TT Superbike where certain objects (tracks in selection screen, speedometer needles and bike seats) don't get displayed (properly). As per screenshots below, native (software) version is fine.
Emulated system: Pentium 200 MMX, 64 MB RAM, S3 Virge/DX, SB 128, Voodoo 2, Win95

Just checked v17-dev commit 302d05c and the same issues with 3dfx mode occur there as well. Did my tests with a Voodoo1 though.

Since you've got an early build of PCem v17 compiled, could you also check if you get serious slowdown (55% and less) when playing FMVs in Grim Fandango, NFS3: Hot Pursuit and Final Fantasy VIII when using Voodoo 1 or 2 as your rendering device?
I've just tried Grim Fandango FMVs with Voodoo 2 in v16 and got a slowdown. I then selected Virge/DX as my rendering device and even with 3D acceleration turned on there was no slowdown and stuttering while playing FMVs (game otherwise runs at 100% with Voodoo 1 or 2).

NFS III's FMVs are fine for me in v16 and v17-dev commit 302d05c but Grim Fandango will slow down to 72-80% in v16 (but v17's fine). What is your host CPU? It is likely you're running into a recompiler performance issue (which has been improved in v17-dev).

Your best bets for solving the slowdown issue are to emulate a slower CPU and/or wait for v17 to be released since the recompiler's definitely faster in the new version.

Manx TT issues are a bug with the 3dfx recompiler. Still looking into it, but turning the voodoo recompiler off should fix it, albeit there will be a hit to frame rate.

I didn't see any performance increase related commit recently. Where did you get that?win2kgamer wrote: ↑Sun 22 Nov, 2020 7:48 pm (...) or wait for v17 to be released since the recompiler's definitely faster in the new version.

The fact that Grim Fandango's FMVs didn't slow down in v17-dev - not conclusive of a performance boost but supports that something was done which made the code faster. It's likely some tweaks were done along the way to emulating the P6 core CPUs (Pentium Pro and Pentium II)
