Pentium roms aren't detected (Linux)

Post by Charadon »

For some odd reason pentium roms aren't detected. (Only 8088, 386, 486 are), I use Linux (Antergos to be exact, which is arch-based)
Not being able to use pentium roms means I can't use voodoo, which I really want. The terminal provides nothing, and when only the pentium rom is in the roms folder, it just says
No ROMs present!
You must have at least one romset to use PCem.
However, running pcem through WINE, it detects the pentium roms, and voodoo works. The issue with using wine is that pcem crashes constantly. And running pcem through a VM is too laggy. I would love to get the linux native version working. Any help is appreciated. I wish I could say more. But I don't have alot of go off of.

Check your rom casing.

Not entirely true... you CAN use a Voodoo/Voodoo2 with a 486 on SiS496 :)

Well that's good to know :) . Would still like to use pentium roms though.
Edit: Not even SIS496 is detected.

Charadon, put your roms folder in .pcem folder in your home directory (same folder where your Desktop and Documents folders are) PCem did create that directory automatically and change all Capital letters on your roms to Small letters (as leilei kindly explain :) ), for example 55XWUQ0E.BIN in 430vx dir. to 55xwuq0e.bin , Linux is case ensitive and while in windows it does not matter in linux it does.

PS. Sarah, maybe You could update Readme-LINUX.txt and add the bit about case sensitive file names in linux, as it is not obvious to all new linux users :)
Thank You again!!! for v14!!!
