PCEM on Raspberry Pi 3 & 4

Post by TreyM »

Anyone have any experience running PCEM on either of the Pi 3 or Pi 4 SBCs?

From what I can tell, the Pi 4 seems capable of about a 486 class machine? However, I am having trouble finding any information on what the older Pi 3 is capable of.

All I could get out of a 3 at best was a i486SX16. 4 on the other hand was either DX4-100 with Quake at 100%, or DX2-66 with Doom at 100%.

Software rendering backend without scaling helps!

Ah thanks so much for replying. Is there any kind of walk through online for building PCEM on the pi? I've been struggling to get it working.

I got it to build. Thanks for the headstart on potential configurations for both Pi boards!

Hi guys, sorry for changing thread slightly, but if p4 was able to get that performance, then sd888 surely can do pentium 100 on its fastest thread, am i wrong? Just asking :)
