Not at stock. If you can get it to 5 GHz or so then _maybe_.
Re: HOST CPU needed for emulate K6-2 300 afr 66 With Voodoo 2 SLI
Well, stock is 3.60 ghz of course it won't work, but the 9900k reaches 5.00 ghz without overclocking, so I took that 5.00 ghz as stock

That will most likely be with only one or two cores active though. For V2 SLI running flat out you're going to end up with 7 active threads, at which point you _will_ need to overclock!

Thank You for the reply!!
or maybe the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X could perform better ?

I don't know. I have neither CPU, and there's no magic formula for what host CPU you need to emulate a certain configuration.

of corse!!!SarahWalker wrote: ↑Fri 24 Apr, 2020 8:59 am I don't know. I have neither CPU, and there's no magic formula for what host CPU you need to emulate a certain configuration.

How do you end with 7 cores?SarahWalker wrote: ↑Fri 24 Apr, 2020 7:13 am That will most likely be with only one or two cores active though. For V2 SLI running flat out you're going to end up with 7 active threads, at which point you _will_ need to overclock!
1 for the CPU, 1 for each Voodoo2, so far I count 3 threads

Each Voodoo2 has 1 FIFO thread and 2 render threads. So Voodoo2 SLI will use 6 threads.

Great info, thanks for clarifying
Re: HOST CPU needed for emulate K6-2 300 afr 66 With Voodoo 2 SLI
I have a 3700X host running a K6-2 300, 128MB RAM, V2 SLI, S3 VIRGE, SB AWE32 guest. I use Win95 with Rain installed. Perfectly? Na, there are a few apps that can cause it to slow down. However, it does work for most games without an issue. I would say it more depends on what you're trying to do with it. A few examples:
Quake III Arena runs at 100% speed with a few tiny minor dips. Not overly noticeable though. Mostly 40-60fps with a few dips to the 20s on intense screens.
Daytona USA runs at 100% locked with 80% real CPU usage. Zero dips for me.
Diablo 1 however shreds the poor machine. Sits at about 84-85%. Dropping the CPU to a 233mhz allows it to run at 'full speed'.
