Building on PowerPC

Post by mijk »

Hey, what would be needed to build on PowerPC? I understand it's only official for x86_64 and ARM.

Won't work - PCem would need quite a lot of changes to work on a big endian CPU, and given that PowerPC is effectively dead it doesn't seem worth the effort.

Okay thanks. So too much code needs to be re-written. There's always DOSBox and VirtualPC.

What PowerPC platform are you thinking of anyway? It's been obsolete on the desktop for a long time.

Just for an old iBook to keep it remotely relevant.

EVEN if you compile PCem to work on a PowerPC it probably won't emulate a 8088@4.77 mhz
I did try to run PCem in a Pentium 4 and had terrible results
